The 2014 edition of the ResMusica Summer Festivals Guide
The third edition of the ResMusica Summer Festivals Guide offers a selection of 60 European festivals of classical music and dance . As with previous editions, this enhanced version uses the successful downloadable-only format.
This selection of festivals is intentionally European (at a time when would-be soothsaying demagogues and pitchmen once again hope to build walls between people) because, as with all the arts, music and dance have only contempt for all forms of isolationism and restriction. On the contrary, artistic development and richness is based upon opening itself to the other, and the intermingling of influences.
The rich nature of the European festival scene also show that despite often drastic budget cuts, widespread general acculturation, and the countless deficiencies of ego-driven managers, artists continue to struggle, over and over, to offer their best to the public and to attract new audiences.
On the cover of our Festivals Guide, you will find flutist Juliette Hurel, one of the most brilliant representatives of current French musicians. Soloist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic (under the direction of no less than Valery Gergiev and Yannick Nézet Séguin), Hurel is a renowned artist who performs worldwide and records many top-rated albums.
You'll find Juliette Hurel, as well as dozens of other musicians and dancers in our on-line Guide by following this link: the ResMusica Summer Festivals Guide
The entire team of ResMusica wishes you a great summer filled with music and dance and enhanced by the energy and vivaciousness of the artistic scene.
